Cyber Attack Against Critical Infrastructure

A devastating cyber attack believed to be tied to Russia continues to pose a “grave risk” to government networks and the private sector, according to an ominous warning issued Thursday by the Department of Homeland Security.
“CISA has determined that this threat poses a grave risk to the federal government and state, local, tribal, and territorial governments as well as critical infrastructure entities and other private sector organizations,” the bulletin stated.
“This… actor has demonstrated patience, operational security, and complex trade-craft in these intrusions,” CISA said of the hackers, adding that the ongoing effort to eliminate the threat would “will be highly complex and challenging.”

Radio Operators: Critical Infrastructure includes telecommunications, the internet, and the commercial power grid.
Review your Signals Operating Instructions, and especially reporting procedures (SITREP, STATREP, etc.). Be prepared to fill out a STATREP (abbreviated STATREP, at a minimum).
Check batteries and generator fuel levels
Inventory and inspect antennas, radios, and other related communications equipment
Conduct ops checks of communications gear, and participate in upcoming scheduled nets.
Discuss alternate communications and meetup plans with family members, group members, etc.
Discuss your emergency communications plans with your like-minded community leaders (clergy, city and other local officials, etc.).

I have converted the American Contingency Northeast Alabama Locals Community to a subscription community meaning that in order to see premium posts and post comments you must be a supporter, just like how the American Contingency and Fieldcraft Survival communities are set up.
